Pyrene Adsorption on a Ag(111) Surface

چکیده
This work describes the adsorption of pyrene molecules on a Ag(111) surface. We first demonstrate that despite its high vapor pressure, can form ordered films under ultrahigh vacuum conditions, presenting well-contrasted diffraction pattern. Studies using high-resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy and ultraviolet photoelectron provide compelling evidence physisorbed system where only weakly interact with substrate underneath. Comparisons theoretical calculations, as well data obtained from optical spectroscopies, clearly vibrational electronic properties adsorbed are similar to expected ones for pristine pyrene. Finally, we used temperature-programmed X-rays study desorption process surface estimate activation desorption.
